COLUMBIA, S.C. (Wednesday, July 6, 2022) - On Thursday, July 7, 2022, the Ad Hoc Committee of the South Carolina House will meet to accept public testimony about the law in South Carolina now that the U.S. Supreme Court has removed the roadblocks of Roe and Casey so that the individual states can now decide the law.
You do not need to be present to make your voice heard.
The Ad Hoc Committee will accept written testimony through Friday, July 8, 2022.
Here is how you can help protect the lives of babies waiting to be born in South Carolina. Be sure to share your testimony with the SCCL office at sccl@sclife.org.
1) Send an e-mail to each of the committee members at the e-mail addresses below. In the subject line write Stand for Life or Choose Life!
2) Include your name and address. The lawmakers need to know you live in South Carolina.
3) Address the e-mail to Representative John McCravy, Chairman.
4) If you have a pro-life story, briefly share it. It is always effective to say, "I am thankful my mother chose life for me."
5) Make the point that you want South Carolina to be a state where the unborn members of our human family are protected by law and welcomed into life. We want all babies equally protected including those who may be diagnosed with a disability before birth and those conceived in rape or incest. It is the worst form of
discrimination to abort a child who may be disabled. It is barbaric to kill a child for the crime of her father. If the life of the mother is in danger, we support saving her life and, if possible, the baby's life.
