WASHINGTON, DC — National Right to Life announced its endorsement of former Attorney General Adam Laxalt for United States Senate in Nevada.

 

“National Right to Life is pleased to endorse Adam Laxalt for the U.S. Senate,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Throughout his career, Adam Laxalt has demonstrated his commitment to protecting vulnerable members of the human family.”

 

Adam Laxalt supports pro-life protections for unborn babies and their mothers. He opposes using tax dollars to pay for abortion, and he opposes taxpayer funding of abortion providers.

 

Adam Laxalt supports the longstanding Hyde Amendment, which bars federal tax dollars from being used for abortions in many federal programs. The Hyde Amendment has saved an estimated 2.5 million lives since its passage in 1976.

 

Adam Laxalt opposes the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act, which really should be called “Abortion Without Limits Until Birth Act” because it would enshrine abortion in federal law and policies, and it would tear down protective laws on the state level including parental involvement and informed consent laws. In contrast, Catherine Cortez Masto co-sponsored and voted for this radical pro-abortion bill.

 

Adam Laxalt is also endorsed by Nevada Right to Life, the state affiliate of National Right to Life. “Adam Laxalt recognizes that our nation’s greatest resource is her people and that their lives – from conception to natural death – must be protected,” said Melissa Clement, executive director of Nevada Right to Life.

 

His general election opponent, Senator Cortez Masto, supports a policy of abortion-on-demand for any reason. Cortez Masto also supports using taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions.

 

“Nevada deserves a pro-life senator like Adam Laxalt who is committed to building a culture of life,” added Tobias. “Laxalt’s stance for life stands in stark contrast to the out-of-touch record of Cortez Masto who supports abortion for any reason until birth.”
