Dear Friends of Life:
We are at a critical juncture in our mission to save babies waiting to be born in South Carolina. As I write this to you on behalf of our voiceless pre-born brothers and sisters, 100 or more abortions per week occur at the three free-standing abortion businesses in our State.
This is beyond heartbreaking. This is a war against the unborn members of our human family. A real war with a real body count. That is why South Carolina Citizens for Life needs your help on
Giving Tuesday to restore legal protection to the unborn.
This is a snapshot of
what we are up against in this war against the unborn.
The abortion workers who make their living by killing
unborn babies have become increasingly more aggressive. Recently a police report was filed against an abortion worker who harassed a pregnant woman in our parking lot! The scared, pregnant mom just needed a safe place to stop and think. The SCCL parking lot was her safe haven.
We partner with A Moment of Hope, the life-saving sidewalk counseling ministry that gives the abortion-minded mom a literal moment of hope with a free pregnancy test and free ultrasound in their beautiful mobile until called Hope.
You and I have signed up to fight against the abortion industry. A vulnerable mother at the prey of the wicked abortion industry has not. I ask you to put yourself in her shoes for a
minute.
Picture a young woman vulnerable and pregnant. She's scared and alone. A friend tells
her about Planned Parenthood, and she schedules an appointment. As she is on her way to the abortion, she sees a large sign with the word - HOPE. She sees people praying along the road, and then she pulls into another parking lot - our parking lot - to think, maybe even to pray.
Imagine the abortion workers in their clown-like outfits rushing toward this scared young woman, screaming at her that she's in the wrong parking lot, and pressuring her to go through with a terrible decision she will regret the rest of her life.
Now picture the pro-lifers quietly surrounding her car and lovingly telling her we can help her in every way - free medical care, financial aid, and mentors helping moms in need.
We are there for her and her baby. The abortion industry is not.
You probably know that the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June and sent it back to the states. Some states such as New York and California allow abortion for all nine months. Some pro-life states such as Mississippi and Alabama have laws that protect the unborn
at all stages of development.
South Carolina is a pro-life state in progress. Abortion on demand is not allowed in most cases after the baby can
feel pain. Our legislature passed a law in 2021 to stop abortion when the baby's heartbeat can be detected, but the greedy abortion industry has that law currently tied up in court. Why? When babies live, the abortion industry loses money.
The Proudly Pro-Life Weekend brings the pro-life community together each year in solidarity for Life. Our theme this year, "Rebuilding the Culture of Life" is a declaration of what we must do.
We declare that together we will rebuild the culture of life in South Carolina. Rebuilding requires us to ramp up our voice for the voiceless, collect our tools and material, and organize a building party.
Our tools include increasing our efforts to raise money for our Proudly Pro-Life Weekend by participating in #GivingTuesday. Donations can be made HERE.
Any gift you make on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, #GivingTuesday, will be doubled by a generous sponsor.
SC Citizens for Life is a non-profit organization, and the Proudly Pro-Life Weekend is our largest fundraiser of the year. The Proudly Pro-Life Weekend is one of the many excellent ways the grassroots pro-life community - that's us - comes together to fight the good fight for Life.
No gift is too small - or too large. If you have already sponsored the Proudly Pro-Life Weekend, please consider a $25 donation that will be doubled by our generous sponsor on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 #GivingTuesday. bit.ly/sclifegivingtuesday
