COLUMBIA, S.C. (Tuesday, October 11, 2022) On October 18, 2022, the South Carolina Senate will have the opportunity to cast the most important vote for life in the history of our state.
For the first time in 50 years, we have the opportunity to protect the unborn members of our human family at all stages of development, to
protect the life of the mother, and to make tightly-drawn rape and incest exceptions. Abortions for rape or incest are less than one percent of the 6,000 abortions occurring annually in South Carolina.
Although the pro-life majority of the Senate was thwarted procedurally on September 8, the Senate now has a brilliant counter procedure to implement H.5399, the Human Life Protection Act, without
the threat of a filibuster.
Here are the Senators who have committed so far to vote pro-life and send the Human Life Protection Act immediately to Governor McMaster.
- Brian Adams
- Thomas Alexander
- Richard Cash
- Wes Climer
- Tom Corbin
- Bill Garrett
- Stephen Goldfinch
- Larry Grooms
- Josh Kimbrell
- Dwight Loftis
- Shane
Martin
- Harvey Peeler
- Mike Reichenbach
- Rex Rice
- Danny Verdin
South Carolina Citizens for Life urges and encourages all our pro-life senators to be present and VOTE TO RECEDE on the Senate Amendment to H.5399 so that the unborn members of our human family are protected by law at all stages of development and the lives of pregnant women are scrupulously
protected as well. A vote to recede on the Senate Amendment sends H.5399 directly to Governor McMaster.
