More than 64 Million Unborn Children Have Died
Since Roe v. Wade;
U.S. Supreme Court Dobbs Decision Overturning Roe v. Wade Will Provide More Opportunities to Protect Women and Their Unborn Babies
WASHINGTON — In response to the tragic January 22,
1973, the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion on demand, millions of pro-life Americans immediately began working to protect innocent human lives through education and legislation.
On June 24, 2022, these efforts led to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's
Health Organization which overturned Roe v. Wade giving the pro-life movement greater opportunities to protect women and their unborn babies.
“For decades, National Right to Life and its state affiliates have led
efforts to pass life-affirming laws at the state level to protect unborn children and their mothers and these efforts led to the reversal of Roe v. Wade,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life.
National Right to Life, the nation’s largest and oldest pro-life group, has successfully led the way over the
last 50 years in seeing pro-life, protective legislation passed on both the state and federal levels. National Right to Life is the only national pro-life group with affiliates in all fifty states and over 3,000 local chapters nationwide.
“National Right to Life will continue to lead the way through model state
laws, federal legislation, and educational efforts,” said Tobias.
Tobias continued, “As tens of thousands march today to
remember Roe and the loss of life since 1973, we praise the work of pro-life people who give of their time, energy, and finances to help women facing an unexpected pregnancy. Those efforts have saved millions of lives and, post-Dobbs, will save millions more.”
