WASHINGTON, D.C.— On Tuesday, November 7, voters in Ohio voted for Issue 1 which will enshrine unlimited abortion in the state constitution.
Misinformation campaigns funded by Big Abortion and its sympathizers pushed a “women will die without Issue 1” message on Ohioans in order to win. This fearmongering led to voters deciding to allow abortion at any time and for any reason in the state of Ohio.
“Sadly, the ones who will suffer for tonight’s vote will be women and their unborn babies,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “As pro-abortion groups move in on Ohio and push to overturn
protective laws, the people of Ohio will likely be shocked at the impact their decision will have.”
Continued Tobias, “We thank our affiliate Ohio Right to Life as well
as the Protect Women coalition along with Governor Mike DeWine and the countless pro-lifers who sacrificed their time and energy to protect preborn babies in Ohio.”
In Kentucky, pro-abortion Governor Andy Beshear won reelection and defeated pro-life
candidate Daniel Cameron.
“Daniel Cameron has been a friend to the pro-life movement and to unborn babies and their mothers,” said Tobias.
In a repudiation of pro-abortion slogans and misinformation campaigns, Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch won re-election. AG Fitch defended the state’s abortion law that led to the U.S. Supreme Court issuing a decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that
overturned Roe v. Wade. AG Fitch handily beat her opponent Greta Kemp Martin by a margin of approximately 2 to 1.
Tobias continued, “We congratulate pro-life champion Attorney General Fitch on her win in the
polls and thank her for her dedication to the pro-life cause.”
