We’re excited to introduce one of our new interns at South Carolina Citizens for Life—Shekinah Washington! A Public Health major at Benedict College, Shekinah is driven, thoughtful, and passionate about standing for life.
Shekinah’s story begins before birth. When doctors warned her mother of a possible disorder that would affect Shekinah's life and the life of her family, fear could have dictated the outcome. But it didn't. Shekinah's mother chose life—and today, Shekinah thrives. Her testimony is a powerful reminder that every life matters, even when the future feels uncertain.
From helping to organize an adult stem cell cheek swab drive to serving in the SC Public Health Student Corps, Shekinah believes being pro-life means taking action. She hopes to use her education to uplift underserved communities and advocate for life at every stage.
Thank you for making internships like Shekinah’s possible. Because of your support, she will be attending the upcoming National Right to Life Conference—and she’s looking forward to the possibility of attending the National Right to Life Academy as well. These opportunities would not be possible without the generosity of supporters like you. Together, we’re equipping the next generation
of pro-life leaders, and we’re honored to welcome Shekinah to the SCCL team!
