Dear ,
I am writing not only to thank you for your outstanding support of South Carolina Citizens for Life, but also to let you know that there will be a hearing September 10 in Columbia, S.C., on the Heartbeat Bill. This is extraordinarily encouraging news.
We expected our Senators to take up the Heartbeat bill in January of 2020. That's the usual process, but we are excited to tell you that the Senate Medical Affairs Committee is getting an early start on this important bill.
Yes, the South Carolina Senators are serious about the beating heart of unborn children and they've made the Heartbeat bill (H3020) a priority! So, a subcommittee of the Medical Affairs Committee has been appointed to spend the day - the whole day September 10, 2019 - hearing testimony.
Holding hearings is the usual process for moving legislation forward. What is unusual and very encouraging is that the hearing is happening early next month instead of waiting until January.
The Heartbeat hearing will be held in the Senate Gressette Office Building, 1101 Pendleton St., Columbia, S.C. 29201. The building is directly behind the State House. The hearing is scheduled from 10 a.m. to Noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. We need you there to counter the pro-death abortion advocates who threaten to pack the room. They hate
babies.
Once again, you, as supporters of South Carolina Citizens for Life, the oldest and largest single-issue pro-life organization in our state, are moving forward to save more and more lives of our precious unborn brothers and sisters.
As the Apostle Paul tells us in Galations 6:9 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Emphasis mine.) We will never give up until the right to life of the unborn members of our human family is restored in law.
