COLUMBIA, S.C. -- (Tuesday, October 15, 2019) The South Carolina Senate subcommittee considering the Heartbeat Bill (H 3020) will continue its deliberation on Tuesday, October 22,2019, at 10 a.m. in room 308 of the Gressette Senate Office Building. Your presence is urgently
needed.
The seven-member subcommittee of the Senate Medical Affairs Committee received testimony at public hearings on September 10, but did not take a vote. The deadline to submit written testimony closed on October 8. Proceedings of the hearings and documents for public inspection can be found here:
Now the subcommittee members are scheduled to discuss the bill and vote on whether the bill should go forward to the full Medical Affairs Committee.
The members of the subcommittee are Sen. Shane Martin, R-Spartanburg Chairman; Sen. Kevin Johnson, D-Clarendon; Sen. Tom Corbin,
R-Greenville; Sen. Marlon Kimpson, D-Charleston; Sen. Margie Bright Matthews, D-Colleton; Sen. Michael Gambrell, R-Anderson; and Sen.
Richard Cash, R-Anderson.
During the September 10 hearings, the pro-life supporters of Heartbeat clearly outnumbered the opponents of life, and we need to do that again. Our senators need all the encouragement we can give them to pass
H 3020, the Heartbeat Bill. It passed the S.C. House last April by an
overwhelming majority. The Senators need to see the room packed with Heartbeat supporters as they vote on this lifesaving law.
Remember this important information for the continuing debate on the Heartbeat Bill and make plans to be there:
