COLUMBIA, S.C. -- There will be a press conference on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the State House to call on the South Carolina State Senators to pass H3020, the Heartbeat Bill. Please gather at the State House at 11 a.m. for prayer and to stay for the press conference at Noon.
Last year, the Heartbeat bill passed the South Carolina House of Representatives by a lopsided margin of 70-31. It is now before the State Senators.
By attending the press conference you will show support for passing the Heartbeat bill and you will have an opportunity to meet with your State Senator. This is called grassroots advocacy and it is the most effective way to getting life-protecting laws passed. Your State Senator needs to hear from you.
Please remember, you are contacting your State Senator.
We need you to encourage your Senator to do three things.
- Support "special order" which means the Heartbeat Bill (H3020) will be scheduled for debate.
- Vote for cloture which means to cut off debate or end a filibuster.
- Vote to pass the Heartbeat Bill (H3020).
Please make every effort to attend this Wednesday! Be the voice for those with none.
