Victory in South Carolina: South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham
Wins Re-Election
WASHINGTON -- Pro-life Republican Senator Lindsey Graham tonight defeated pro-abortion Democrat Jaime Harrison in the race for U.S. Senate. Senator Graham was endorsed by National Right to Life.
"We congratulate pro-life Senator Lindsey Graham," said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. "National Right to Life and South Carolina Citizens for Life reached out to voters across the state of South Carolina to make it clear that the pro-life values of the state would be best represented in the U.S. Senate by pro-life Senator Lindsey Graham and voters
responded."
Senator Graham is the lead sponsor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation to protect unborn children at 20 weeks, a point by which the unborn child is capable of experiencing great pain when killed by dismemberment or other late abortion methods.
Senator Graham also co-sponsored and voted for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which would require that a baby born alive during an abortion must be afforded the same degree of care that would be given to any other child delivered at the same gestational age.
Senator Graham also opposes using tax dollars to pay for abortion and opposes taxpayer funding of abortion providers.
"National Right to Life looks forward to continuing our work with Senator Lindsey Graham in the U.S. Senate to advance life-affirming, pro-life policies that protect unborn children and their mothers," said Tobias.
