COLUMBIA, S.C. (August 13, 2021) The latest abortion statistics for South Carolina show that Planned Parenthood killed the majority of unborn babies who died from abortion in 2020. Of the 5,468 abortions that occurred in South Carolina, Planned Parenthood in
Columbia, S.C., reported 1,681 kills, and Planned Parenthood in Charleston, S.C., reported 1,478 kills, or nearly 57 percent of the total abortions occurring in South Carolina in 2020.
An early abortion data report from the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control incorrectly reported low numbers for the abortions that occurred in 2020 in South Carolina. The revised report unfortunately showed the number of abortions increased in 2020
over 2019 from 5,101 in 2019 to 5,468 2020.
