Radical "Women's Health Protection Act" Would Remove All Pro-Life Protections for Unborn Babies

WASHINGTON – In a move that reaffirmed their zealotry on abortion, Democrat leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives brought to the floor for a vote the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act (H.R. 3755).
On Friday, September 24, the bill passed in the House by a vote of 218 to 211 with Republicans and one lone Democrat voting against it. See how your member voted on this radical legislation here.
The radical “Women's Health Protection Act” would strip away all state and federal laws designed to protect unborn children and their mothers. Only abortionists and abortion providers like Planned Parenthood benefit from this legislation. Sen. Schumer (D-NY) has announced that the Senate intends to vote on this sweeping legislation.
Tragically, the losers in this debate are the mothers and their unborn babies.
Among the protective laws this shocking legislation would nullify:
Requirements to provide women seeking abortion with specific information on their unborn child and
on alternatives to abortion;
Laws providing reflection periods (waiting periods);
Laws requiring parental consent or notification for minors seeking an abortion;
Laws allowing medical professionals to opt-out of providing abortions;
Laws limiting the performance of abortions to licensed physicians;
Bans on elective abortion after 20 weeks when an unborn child is capable of feeling pain;
Bans on the use of abortion as a method of sex selection, and abortions done based on a diagnosis of Down Syndrome.
The bill would also undo most previously enacted federal limits on abortion,
including federal conscience protection laws and most, if not all, limits on government funding of abortion.
The tenth amendment, which gives each state the right to set its own policy, is in the U.S. Constitution. Abortion is not. Yet, pro-abortion groups have stated that this law would establish abortion-on-demand in all 50
states, regardless of the status of Roe v. Wade.
With this bill, elective abortion would become the procedure that must always be facilitated – never delayed, never impeded to the slightest degree.
